NatCapLyme: Shenandoah Valley Chapter

Monthly support group meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month.

The Rockbridge Community Church of the Nazarene
2155 Sycamore Avenue
Buena Vista, VA 24416

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The meeting facilitator is Diane Wilcox, an Associate Professor in the College of Education at James Madison University. Diane contracted Lyme disease in California in 1989, but was seen by a series of doctors unfamiliar with tick-borne disease. Nearly a year after the initial bite, she was finally correctly diagnosed and treated by a doctor who understood the nature of Lyme. She later was able to earn her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Educational Psychology at the University of North Carolina.

Diane has worked in the field of educational technology for many years, co-developing educational software applications. She has been teaching at JMU since 2004 and has been active in Lyme disease education since the mid-1990s. You can reach Diane by email at
