CoQ10 is an essential component of cellular energy production. CoQ10 is a key component of the machinery responsible for producing energy within mitochondria. Supplemental CoQ10 is another way to keep mitochondria humming, especially in organs requiring high energy, such as the heart. CoQ10 is a potent antioxidant that protects mitochondria; it also inhibits free-radical damage to cell and mitochondrial membrane. The highest normal concentrations of CoQ10 in the body are found in the heart, liver, kidneys and pancreas. CoQ10 is especially protective of heart muscle.

Suggested dosage: 20-100 mg twice daily (Use Ubiquinol, the reduced form of CoQ10).
